Our approach emphasizes early puppy education (8-24 weeks of age) teaching you how to get and keep your pups focus and attention. Our technique uses a reward based system with a verbal marker. Basic manners, obedience, and foundation behaviors are key components of our training. We do not correct for mistakes. Mistakes are how you learn.
While we are knowledgeable and experienced with all training tools every puppy is started on a flat collar and a 6’ leash. We adapt the tool to fit the unique needs of each puppy-handler team.

PRICING
Foundation I
- 5 private sessions
- Sessions scheduled once per week
- The first session is 90 minutes
- The remaining sessions are 60 minutes
- Puppies must be current on vaccinations for their age
Foundation I sessions are at our training facility. Both you and your puppy need a non-distracting environment in order for you to learn how to teach and your puppy learn how to learn. Distractions are added slowly at home and in other locations.
Our sessions are private because every puppy and handler team is unique.
Management Skills
Includes:
- Puppy-proofing
- Containment (how, where, when, and for how long, housebreaking, biting, jumping, and chewing)
Handling Skills
Includes:
- Proper choice of training equipment
- Handling of the leash and your body for desired results
- How to properly socialize your puppy
*Sending videos of you working your puppy at home is encouraged for trainers to de-bug mistakes you may be making.
*Foundation II requires completion of Foundation I

John specifically told me to introduce tug play/training into the regimen contrary to my breeder's advice. It was immediately apparent that this was extraordinarily bonding for Three, and for me. Eye contact became extraordinary, attention improved, and there is now never a time when any sort of training session at any time of day or night is not met with joy, even though we may not do formal tug play every day. I believe in scientific principles, and given the many variables involved In training, I cannot prove that tug play was causal. But there is such a powerful correlation that it should not be ignored. I believe it was very important and thank you for the encouragement. And for focusing on training me first, and only then training Three.
